Last last summer when I was looking for a recipe that I couldn’t find in a cookbook, I came across the Taste of Home website. It’s kind of a fun site, and if you set up an account you even have your own online recipe box. Other thing I discovered is that you can sign up for their recipe–a-day email, and every day you get a different recipe from them. I have been getting this emails for a while now. Most of them I probably will never make, but I have gotten a few very good new recipes from there. Plus, this website is now where I head when I can’t find a recipe for what I want to make.
Well, earlier this week, I tried one of the new recipes for herbed breadsticks that I had gotten in one of the emails. They are delicious! The link is at the bottom of the post if you are interested. These breadsticks have herbs in the dough, as well as Italian seasoning on the top of them. So our family sits down at the table for dinner and then Silas gets his breadstick and asks “Why did you put Christmas tree needles on these?” Rest assured, I did not put balsam needles on my breadsticks, it all came out of a jar labeled “Italian Seasoning”. However, I guess some of the chopped up herbs did look a little like tree needles… I don’t really remember how I answered his question, but there is hardly a dull moment around here.
If you still want to try this recipe here is the link,
